Meet the Elders

Ian McCullough

Ian is a retired school teacher married to Hazel with 3 children and 7 grandchildren.  He  joined the eldership team in 1993.

Ian’s vision for Silverbirch: “It is my prayer that Silverbirch will be a place where Christians receive support, encouragement and challenge for their lives in an increasingly secular world as they worship together, develop their gifts and grow in Christ  and that those who are not yet Christians will feel welcome and free to explore what Christianity is all about.”

 Colin Lougheed

Colin is a Deputy Principal in the Northern Ireland Civil Service.  He is married to Shirley and he too has 5 children and 1 grandchild. Colin joined the eldership team in 2002.

Colin’s vision for Silverbirch: “My prayer is that Silverbirch will be a fellowship motivated and united by love, empowered by the Holy Spirit with Christ at its centre.  A place where Jesus is presented as One who can meet every need – where those who love the Lord are encouraged to develop their gifts and to use them in His service.  A church where, by the love we show for one another and for those around us,  we will be identified as followers of Christ.”

Jonathan Boardman

Jonathan is a Programme Manager in Bombardier Aerospace in Belfast.  He is married to Rosemary and has 2 children and 2 grandchildren. Jonathan joined the eldership in 2009.

Jonathan’s hope for Silverbirch, “My prayer for Silverbirch is that we grow together into a closer personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to each other. And that we effectively communicate the amazing love of God to our friends and neighbours.”

Where we share our faith and Christ’s love with our friends and neighbours, and is a place where God’s presence and power is felt and lives are transformed.”
